What I do

You have something important to say.

The world should hear it.

I’m Danielle, AKA Birdie — writer, editor, and marketing strategist, and the founder of Bird of Mouth Marketing. For over 15 years I’ve helped authors, thought leaders, and mission-driven people get known: building online presences that are genuine, strategic, and entirely their own.

The clients I work with are focused on their craft. They have real audiences waiting for them who are on the lookout but don’t know how to find what they’re looking for, or even if who or what they’re looking for exists. I’m the bridge between what clients do and their prospective audiences, and my job is to leverage my clients’ time and messaging so the right people can find them.

Marketing doesn’t have to feel icky.

When marketing isn’t executed thoughtfully, it pushes prospective audiences away. Good strategy eliminates the “ick” and connects the right people to the right work, which is exactly where I come in.

Most of my clients aren’t marketing people, and they don’t need to be. What they need is someone who can help them distill their message with straightforward, thoughtful integrity: getting to their why without compromising their voice, their values, or their authenticity in the process.

I work across web, social media, and email to build presence and put strategy in place. In a nutshell, I work to help intended content reach the right people. And because I believe in empowering all my clients, my process is transparent and accessible so that marketing isn’t ambiguous or mysterious. My goal is for every client to feel like they can own their own process, whether they ultimately choose to take the reins or have me hold them.

I specialize in:

  • Website copy & strategy
  • Author brand development
  • Email campaigns & newsletters
  • Social media presence
  • SEO informed content
  • Messaging & positioning
  • Editing & proofreading
  • CMS setup & guidance
  • Product and book launch support
  • Marketing coaching

Your audience exists. Let’s help them find you.

If you have something worth sharing and want to get it out there on your terms, in your voice, and without tactics that make you cringe, I’m here to talk about what that can look like.
